Kotoka International Airport (ACC) served just under 2.4 million passengers in 2016. This placed it 18th in the list of busiest African airports. Its coverage of the African continent ranges from Johannesburg in the south, Nairobi and Addis Ababa in the east, Freetown in the west and Casablanca and Cairo in the north. If you’re on a flight leaving from Kotoka International Airport (ACC) for an international destination, you’ll have enjoyed getting to use the facilities of the new Terminal 3, including 7,000m² of retail space and modern boarding bridges. The terminal was completed in September 2018.

Kotoka International Airport is about 10km northeast of the old historic centre. To drive to the airport from Ussher Town, for example, can take between 20 and 55 minutes. Liberation Rd and Independence Av. offer the most direct access. There are 6 car parks at the airport, all a short walk from the airport. Terminal 2 (domestic) and Terminal 3 (all international flights) both have their own drop-off zones, which are currently free to use. If you don’t have your own car, you may want to rent one, get a taxi, a bus that’s stopping on Liberation Road, (the closest available stops to the airport,) or alternatively, arrange an Uber ride.
